About AMERF

AMERF EXISTS IN ORDER TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY AID TO DESERVING PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS FROM AMONG ATLANTA’S MUSICAL COMMUNITY.*

OUR STORY

The idea took root when the organizers of Atlanta’s 40-year tradition, the Inman Park Festival, agreed to let us solicit donations at the Festival in May, 2016. Those funds have enabled us to become a 501c3 non-profit corporation, and our ongoing purposes align with our Mission Statement.*

OUR MISSION

  • Create fund-raising opportunities and solicit donations in order to maintain a cash deposit reserve to be used for donations to musicians or to like-minded organizations.
  • Research and catalog a database of medical/financial/legal resources for use by individual musicians.
  • Continue to support live music and all those people who help make it.
  • Believe that music makes the world a better place.
  • Rely on volunteers and support from working musicians to keep us going.
  • Support and facilitate musical education for young Atlantans.
