This is a hard post for me to compose, having just lost a friend and an incredibly talented writer, composer, performer and frontman for Atlanta-based Delta Moon. Tom and all his bandmates were world travelers and Tom was likely the best suited ambassador to be found to represent Atlanta and our music. If we had access to my erstwhile friend, the late Colonel….. Bruce could tell anyone’s birthdate on first guess. I do not know Tom’s birthday (I always had to remind him that he was, in fact, younger than me). Sadly, we do know when Tom went to join Bruce- the night of Sunday, October 17, 2021, following a long and difficult battle with cancer. From the time he was diagnosed, he never let that stuff slow him down or diminish his modest humor and good will. I have to admit: I’m having a hard time at writing this, what with grieving Tom and recalling all the others we have lost in the recent past; I knew many of them, as I am certain most of you did. Tom will surely find lots of his old pals to jam with, while his remaining friends will always remember him as truly nice, and a supremely gifted and gentle man.
