It is with deep regret that we must revise this post.  Our dear friend and brother Yonrico Scott passed away Thursday evening, at the tender age of 64.  He had volunteered to perform at our fundraiser this coming Sunday; we hope to honor him by turning the event into a celebration and remembrance of his life and music.

We were blessed to be able to provide some measure of relief for Rico when he was struggling.  In return, he gifted me with his friendship, a much more precious thing than he had received, and he became an enthusiastic supporter of our cause.  Following is the initial post about the event:

We hope you will join us in providing financial support for musicians from Atlanta’s musical community. This is happening at Music on Main Street at 113 Main Street, Lilburn, Georgia 30047, on Sunday, September 22, from 4pm to 9 pm (or so). AMERF is a 501c3 Georgia non-profit corporation, in support of  Atlanta area musicians who have experienced misfortune through no fault of their own. Scheduled to appear will be Donna Hopkins and friends, Yonrico Scott and friends, and Sandra Hall, Atlanta’s “Empress of the blues” (and AMERF board member), Donations will go to Grace Note  (Music on Main Street’s non-profit), and AMERF’s general fund, for distribution among deserving individuals who qualify.

Music on Main Street is a cool outdoor venue, situated in a shaded natural amphitheater.  Bring your chairs and coolers and enjoy an afternoon of music from some of Atlanta’s most talented and beloved performers!
